Today’s motor sports have never been safer, from roll cages to computers that monitor the engine and have subroutines in place to turn the engine off and deploy parachutes to slow the vehicle down. All set to save the life of the driver in the worst case scenario disaster or catastrophic failure of the engine.

“Now Rivera is set - here’s the playoff,  swung on - and grounded to second. Cano fields, throws to first, in time.Ball game over, world series over, the Yankees win, the Yankees win!” commentator John Sterling announced. These were the words that many New Yorkers had been waiting for since 2000. The win should have came earlier, but so many years of the Yankees wanting their 27th title helped New Yorkers appreciate this victory that they had been longing for. What is sad to see is that a few key players who helped the Yankees win the 2009 World Series may not be on the team next year.
