LaGCC students may have noticed a change in the way professors take attendance for classes. No longer does the professor pull out the wide sheet of paper that looks like it came from a late 1990’s dot matrix printer, complete with holes on the sides. Instead, you may have noticed that the first thing most, if not all professors are doing when they enter the classroom is turning on the computer. The reason for this is because the attendance system at LaGuardia Community College has gone online. Professors must now enter and update their daily attendance rosters on LaGuardia’s intranet.

The juice is flowing as consumers once again show that electronic gadgets are on the top of their gift lists. A new report on consumer electronics shopping Trends published by Rockhopper Research shows that 83 percent of shoppers will be buying at least one electronic gift this year. The report also states that 60 percent of those purchases will be video game consoles and related paraphernalia. The runner up at 54 percent is an MP3 player including the Apple iPod.
